To the Editor:
I am not sure how many people in Carroll County realize what a huge contribution Thorne’s Neighborhood Market gives to various organizations in this county. I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for what they have provided. We just finished four days of the hot dog stand Throne’s provides for organizations to use. They not only furnish the stand, they provide electricity, water, hog dogs, buns, all condiments and the pop.

They have a cash drawer ready for us in the morning and the employees are willing to help us in any way possible. When we need something, they are there to help. When we have completed our allotted days, we are given 60 percent of the amount taken in. I cannot tell you how awesome this is for our small church and the ministries within it that have operated the hot dog stand this year.

Had it not been for the generosity of Thorne’s, we would not have had enough money for our Vacation Bible School, our youth to attend the Alive Festival or for other outreach ministries.

A big thank you goes to the people of the community who support the hog dog stand and the organizations running it. Some come every day and not only buy a hog dog, but take time to talk and for fellowship. Thanks also to the volunteers who help man the stand because we could not do it without the support of everyone. With the economy as it is, businesses are having a tough time just the same as many citizens. I say thank you to Thorne’s for your generosity and am looking forward to next summer when the hot dog stand opens again.
