Dear Editor,
During my years as a student at Carrollton High School the most valuable life lessons were taught from the stage of Bell-Herron. Work ethic,self-confidence,goal setting, and teamwork are valuable attributes that are being threatened by the current school administration.
The lessons that have stayed with me the longest and I pride myself are because I was given a stage on which to pursue them. The virtues that were instilled in me from every practice and performance, are the same lessons that I hope my children will have the opportunity to receive.
When a student commits their time, energy, and passion to the fine arts offered at Carrollton they should be offered a proper venue. The message that I derive from this action is that the fine arts are expendable. As well as it should be, since wholesome meals have also been eliminated, only to be replaced with pre-packaged substandard offerings.
I applaud every individual that is fighting to save the stage of Bell-Herron. For an administration that is turning their back on the students, families and alumni of the Bell-Herron stage, how soon before the community returns the favor to those administrators?
