To the Editor:
In October 2008, I met with Superintendent Palmer Fogler and Principal Dave Davis concerning adding a Bible curriculum as an elective course for the 2009-2010 school year.
In order to present this course for their approval, a team of interested people were contacted and petitions were circulated and signed. Mrs. Fogler and Mr. Davis informed me last week the Bible curriculum will be offered as an elective to the junior and senior high students next school year. Mrs. Fogler and Mr. Davis have been so supportive in this effort and I can’t thank them enough. I believe they really do want the very best for our students at CHS.
Why should junior and senior high students sign up for this course? There is so much to learn about what makes our country great through our Holy Bible because we gain Godly wisdom when we study it. It seems we used to know this, but are slowly forgetting. Let’s get it back! Also, this course will help you learn and clearly understand what God expects of you. This will guarantee success in life. God is faithful to point us in the right direction if we are seeking to find him.
Thank you to all you helpers and “prayer warriors” of our community who helped circulate and sign petitions for this course. You are all a great blessing to this community.
Again, thank you Mrs. Fogler and Mr. Davis and teacher Ann Guthrie for stepping up with enthusiasm to help our students in the course of study. I hope to meet you soon. You will all be blessed. Carrollton High School will be blessed!
So now it’s all up to you junior and senior high students to sign up for this elective Bible course. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Ephesians 6:13-17; God’s word is an indispensable tool. Recovery will come to our land if we heed his word, Isaiah 55:10-13 and 2 Chronicles 7:14.
