Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
First we lost 27 ballots from a Special Election in February and neglected to contact the state until we were called on the carpet about it. Now let us fast forward to the past election held on the Third (I wrote Third because I didn’t want to have a typo) of November and guess what happened? We had typos on the State Issue 2 votes and on Grimes for Carrollton village council.

I have spent many years in the use of numbers (30 years of teaching mathematics) and never did I see a 3 become an 8, or a 7 become a 5, or a 2 become a 6 and so on. I also never interpreted any of those numbers to become different numbers. Maybe we don’t do a second count, but isn’t that required before we let out the info?

Let’s be honest. We made some mistakes again. Maybe it’s time to overhaul the Elections Board completely. After all, the money they earn comes from our county taxes.

Ralph Lloyd
Carrollton, OH
