To the Editor:
I want to congratulate the students of Bell-Herron Middle School involved with the production of Annie Jr. on an excellent performance! They have been practicing since February and the dedication to the play by Ms. Barnhart and assistant director Jen Silver was amazing. There were approximately 60 kids involved in the play and every one of them should be proud. Both nights were sold out. What great community support we have for this program.
People are saying the school administration wants to tear down the stage to make a kitchen and cafeteria. Doesn’t the school already have a kitchen and cafeteria that works just fine? I hope this is a rumor because it would be a shame to take the stage away from these kids and teachers who work so hard to put on top-notch performance. These plays are, and have been, the pride of our school and community for many years. When someone mentions Carrollton High School, the thing most people think about is the stunning plays we’ve had through the years.
The drama department gives our children valuable tools to use throughout their lives such as self-confidence and communication skills. The businesses that donate to the program and the parents and grandparents who work behind the scenes are unbelievable! I hope the school board and administration realize the importance of this program and what it does for our children.
Great job kids. You should be extremely proud!
