To the Editor:
We are in for a long dark future economically. Spending is out of control. If you look at the 12 years when Republicans controlled Congress, the average annual deficit was about $104 billion. That’s too high and that’s why they were voted out. In the past three years the Democrats have controlled Congress, the annual average deficit is now $1.1 trillion. Do the math. What used to be an annual deficit under the Republicans has become a monthly deficit under the Democrats. So when the President says, “I inherited a big deficit,” I agreed, but he inherited from the Democrats and only the Congress can spend money. Our Democratic representatives aren’t listening to us; there is nothing we can do. The President and the Democratic Congress plan to spend more, just look at the new proposed budget.
