To the Editor:
Once again, the Carroll County Ministerial Association, which sponsors the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, would like to thank the community for its generosity in supporting this ministry of providing food assistance to needy families in our community. Cash donations and collections of food have been received from businesses, churches, clubs, civic organizations, school groups and individuals. Especially large contributions were received from the SURE group and Rex Energy. We were able to provide families with extra meals for the holiday season and our increasing supply of essential non-food items such as paper products, diapers, soups etc.

We would also again like to acknowledge the regular weekly donation of unsold goods from Betty Kaye Bakery and Thorne’s Market and the kindness of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity for providing the excellent distribution facility rent-free. Dozens of volunteers also make generous donations of their time to staff the food pantry. For all who make this Christian charity ministry possible, we say thank you.
