To the Editor:
It is with sincere and heartfelt gratitude the Carroll County Animal Protection League’s officers, board of directors and members would like to thank all those who bought tickets and attended our Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction Nov. 7. Also thank you to all the 91 businesses in Carrollton, Waynesburg, Minerva, Dellroy, Bergholz, Malvern, Painesville, Canton, and Canal Fulton, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Melbourne, Florida, for their wonderful support of donated items for the auction, door prizes, and for the numerous and generous cash contributing sponsors for our event. All of our volunteers worked very hard to put this event together and their continued volunteerism is to be commended. It was a great success thanks to each of you!

We thank Jim Carpenter for donating his 50/50 winnings back to the organization, the Carrollton Showstoppers for a great performance, Teresa Fisher, Syndy Willen and Alex Moore for catering and serving the delicious buffet meal, and Dr. Judy Childers of the Minerva Veterinarian Clinic for her informative speech on spaying and neutering of companion animals.

All proceeds go into our land/shelter fund to continue raising money for the land we purchased, July 1, 2009. We are not affiliated with any other animal, or animal rights organizations, but solely an organization committed to building an animal shelter for Carroll County.

Our membership continues to grow as more people, adults and Junior members, join us in our cause to build a shelter and eventually save lives of the domesticated animals which will come under our care with the shelter. No, we will not save them all, but we are determined and dedicated to save the ones we can once our shelter is built. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at the Friendship Center at the C.C. Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m.

Spaying and neutering is the utmost answer to unwanted litters. Pre-pubescent surgery has been and is now an option available to help reduce the unwanted litters of puppies and kittens before they get caught or have litters at a very early age. This surgery can be performed as early as 8 weeks old and has been very successful all over the United States. Check with a veterinarian to see if they do this less invasive and life-saving surgery.

Thank you for your belief in us and for your continued support!
“Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It-Help Us Build It!”
