To the Editor:
The Carroll County Unit of the American Cancer Society wants to express our sincere gratitude to all volunteers and participants in the 2010 RELAY FOR LIFE held on June 18 - 19 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. We raised over $27,500 surpassing our goal of $25,000. This was only accomplished by the wonderful people who worked all year on such great projects of every kind, large and small. We hope that each person who did anything to help with Relay: business owners who donated goods or gifts, was a team captain, was a team member, was a supporter of a team, bought a luminary or just came out and enjoyed encouraging the participants will take a moment and appreciate that the money we raised that goes to research might be the dollar that supports the cure or the new medicine that stops the advancement of any of the types of cancer. We did a great service for our loved ones, the ones we honored and the ones we remembered at Relay.

Each year our survivor participation increases in numbers and that is the reason we can all feel pride in what is being accomplished. We would like to thank and recognize the following businesses for their contributions: Ace Hardware,  Aultman, PNC Bank, Carrollton Business Women, Creekside Springs, Dellroy Market, Free Press Standard, Fusion Ceramics, Gionino’s Pizza, Manfull’s Market, Subway, Thorne’s Neighborhood Market, Wendy’s, Woods Grocery, McDonald’s, Ashton’s 5 c & 10 c Store, Dollar General Market, Bud’s Flowers & Gifts, Mercy Medical Center, Paint & Carpet,  Paperworks & More, Deluxe Body Shop, Inc.,  and Jean Miller – SS&E Laundry Service. The organizations for their services: Mark Walters and Boy Scout Troops #141, The Friendship Center, Malvern Elementary 2nd Grade Classes and the Carroll County Fair Board.  And the following individuals for their time, hard work and patience: Ruth Ann Albaugh, John and Melanie Campbell, Ron Eick, Jennifer Gotschall, Rev Kimberly Arbaugh, 7th & 8th Grade Cheerleading Squad, Avis Payne, Amy Pitts, Glenda Carter,  Robin Palmer, Chelsea McIntire, Aneissa Randal, Tammy Sanderson, Nancy Whitmore and Dan Yost.

Also, thanks to the teams and the team captains who worked so hard with us and pulled it all together with their numerous financial supporter: Aultman, Aultman Cancer Warriors, CC Weekend Warriors, Countryview Manor, Donna’s Deli, Estella’s Team, Free Press Standard, Huntington Bank, Grace for a Cure, Hope Walkers, Lady Basketball Warriors, Pan Thin or Hand Tossed,  Angels of Mercy, Pups for Life, Lucy’s Chuckwagon, Malvern Rotary, Stars of Hope, Team Super Cooper and Working for Hope. We apologize to any donor not listed; we appreciate all your support.

RELAY FOR LIFE brings together cancer survivors, patients and their loved ones, families, friends, and co-workers for a common cause, TO FIND THE CURE FOR CANCER. We hope that each one of you feels a smile in your heart for your reason for participating, and thank you for helping us raise over $27,500 to be used toward the cause.
There is no finish line until we find a cure!
