To the Editor:
Once again we want to express our overwhelming gratitude and heartfelt thank you to so many members of the CCAPL and to the general public who purchased tickets and attended, and to the businesses throughout Carroll County and the surrounding counties for making our 3rd. annual benefit dinner and silent auction a tremendous success on October 22! We raised over $7,000.00 and this money will be used for our on-going efforts to build a greatly needed animal shelter for Carroll County!

We thank Carroll County Sheriff Deputy Shane Beohm and his K-9 unit “Oz” for a most informative and eye-opening presentation! We are blessed in this community to have such fine officers in our law enforcement department.

We also want to thank the general populous for their support and generosity at our previous fund-raising events over the summer such as our hot dog stands and our tables at the Farmer’s Market-Carrollton area. Many of the 50/50 winners donated their earnings back to us and we thank them for doing this.

Recently we were blessed by a $5,000 donation from a member who wishes to remain anonymous towards the 416 ton of #304 limestone needed for the L-shaped parking lot area on our animal shelter site which was excavated in September by Sheckler’s Excavating, Inc.

With this added contribution, along with the other monetary contributions we received from the John H. & Evelyn L Ashton Preservation Assoc., Rosebud Mining Company, Karen Polony, Carroll County Foundation, Carroll Electric People for People Fund, Wynn and Su Arnold, Rick and Carol Hannon, and commitments from Donald Slates and Chesapeake Energy, we have succeeded in raising half of the tonnage needed to cover the parking lot area before winter. We will be working towards procuring the additional funding for the other half as soon as we can.

We thank each and every one of you who has contributed to us in any way towards our goal and we appreciate your continued support and belief in us.

“Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It- Help us build it!”
