To the Editor:
On behalf of the Sheriff K9 Association, we would like to extend our gratitude to the local businesses and community members who supported our 2nd annual K9 Golf Outing and Steak Dinner. The community support for the K9 unit has been truly remarkable. As you may know, there are two commissioned K9s working for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. K9 Nero (handler Lt. Ron Clapper) and K9 Oz (handler Shane Beohm) are both dual purpose dogs who have assisted in narcotics detection, criminal apprehension and tracking in several situations in Carroll County. With community donations, the Sheriff K9 Association is able to continue to provide necessary training and working materials for the dogs. We were overwhelmed with the attendance at the golf outing/steak dinner.

In addition to Sheriff Dale Williams and the community members who purchased dinner/raffle tickets and participated in the golf outing, we would like to thank those who make the event so successful, including: Archer’s Restaurant, Ark Water, Braces’, Brooks Auto Parts and Sales, BW Auto Sales, John and Melanie Campbell, Camolot Labradors, Carrollton Hardware, Countryside Recycling, Danny’s Detailing, Dellroy Market, Deluxe Body Shop, Depot Bar and Grille, Dollar General Market, Gotch and Company, Grady Rentals, Guess Motors, Hepner’s Pools and Spas, Huebner Chevrolet Subaru, Dr. Hulit, Dr. Locke, McCort’s Family Footwear, McFadden Insurance Agency, Ponderosa, Rinkes Insurance, R&L Auto Care, R&M Auto, Seven Ranges, Eric Stanbro and family, Wheeler Construction, Gary and Syndy Willen, Bill and Valerie Wohlwend and family, Wood’s Grocery, Pozderac Family/Carroll Meadows Golf Course and Knickers Restaurant, Gordon’s Graphics and Lee Gallatin.
