To the Editor:
With National Day of Prayer behind us and Memorial Day activities in the month of May 2012 behind us, we march onward celebrating the birthday of our wonderful country with the two-edged sword and prayer in our hearts that our nation will be loosed of its slumber and spirit of greed and return to its God-given heritage by prayer and fasting.

It is here that I want to thank every individual and group that stood with our local National Day of Prayer (NDP) Task Force Committee in prayer and lent a hand to help us with the various tasks of the day as well as the evening worship and praise concert that culminated day-long activities. As has been said before, only in eternity will we know the strongholds that were pulled down with the Word of God and prayers here in this county, but across our nation as well.

Did you know there was 35 percent growth in prayer events over last year and the enthusiasm for the 61st annual NDP revealed more people than ever before answered the call to pray, along with churches holding prayer sessions across this nation and millions attending?

These statistics came down from the NDP’s national Vice Chairman John Bornschein. So, Carroll countians, know you are a part of this national effort and God will surely bless.

Don’t forget to continue in prayer for the state you “adopted” May 3 and marked on the enlarged colored map that was displayed in the tent at the gazebo on Public Square. An announcement is forth coming as to where the map will be on display.

Again, thanks be to God and special thanks to all of you who stood together for this nation and with all of us.

Barb Walton
NDP Task Force
Carrollton, OH
