To the Editor:
As a resident of Carroll County, I would like to know why people from different states can work right here in my backyard while someone like me cannot find any work. I live here, pay taxes in the county and all this shale gas construction work is going to out-of-town people who pay zero taxes in Carroll County.

This whole industry should be dealt with in a manner that says go ahead and take our minerals but do not give away the jobs and such to outsiders from Texas, Oklahoma or wherever.

Where is the accountability from our county commissioners to put pressure on Chesapeake or whoever to do the right thing?
