To the Editor:
I am writing to thank the Carrollton Concert Band and directors Dave Dickerhoof and Heather Shives for giving us a great year. The band competed at district competition and earned straight I’s. They were then eligible for state competition. They went to state competition April 30 for the first time since the 1980s. Although the band didn’t obtain a I from state, we are proud of you for representing our community and school in an outstanding manner.

Thank you to the community for the support you have given the band, Mr. Davis for providing dinner before state competition, all the businesses that agreed to do signage as the band left town, Ace Hardware, Ponderosa, Consumer’s Bank and Wendy’s and Jessica  Taylor for painting all the signs that lined SR 43. Thanks to Tom Mesler for arranging fire trucks to escort the band upon its return to Carrollton and Firemen James Rininger, Robert House and Tom for participating in the escort around Public Square Friday night. Your support is greatly appreciated.
