To the Editor:
I would like to publicly acknowledge the recent generosity of Ken Joseph.
The Golden Age Retreat (county home) was in need of a replacement gas hot water boiler for the building. This was an unexpected expense that would have taken a big bite out of our budget for the year. It was unexpected because the last one was only about five years old. The estimates for replacement and installation ranged from $10,000 to $17,000.
To make a long story short, Commissioner Doyle Hawk was in the right place at the right time. Joseph overhead a conversation about the situation and had recently purchased a property that had a boiler in it that was only about a year old. He made the offer that if the county home could use it, they could have it.
Mr. Joseph, if you wanted to hear words of praise, here they are, aimed at you! Thank you from all the residents, staff and community supporters of the county home! I am a firm believer in what you do will come back to you so we wish you the best!
