To the Editor:
Have you noticed the political left in this country have an infatuation with the word “tolerance?” Is it because they are tolerant themselves? Of course not and it is no accident either that they intend to fight and die on that hill called “tolerance” because there’s a motive behind their madness.

That word has a long history in the American lexicon and goes back at least as far as our debates over religious liberty. The left’s purpose is to convey to the “low information” crowd the literal definition of the word. That definition is: sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own.

In reality, leftists don’t care what the definition is. Their intent is to show how magnanimous they are while casting the political right as narrow minded and intractable.

Given “tolerance” is generally thought to be the opposite of “intolerance,” you may say, “Well, what the left is doing is just pointing out the differences of liberal versus conservative and in turn the definitions of the two words.”

However, the dirty little secret the left doesn’t want you to know is: Thomas Paine, 1737-1809, English-born American patriot/author stated, toleration was “not the opposite of intolerance, but…the counterfeit of it.” In other words, tolerance allows too much room for lawsuits over alleged civil rights discrimination at the expense of biblical morality, which is the glue that holds the civil society together.

Today we, as Americans, are told by liberals we need to be more “tolerant” of immorality so there is more room for claimed discrimination – of course.
I submit, you cannot discriminate against something that has already been declared immoral by Almighty God.

As you can see, it is no accident liberals love the word “tolerance” as they are using it to destroy our culture as originally constituted and remake it (Obama’s hope and change) into another vassal state of the coming global government
