To the Editor:
Finally spring is here, temperatures are rising, daffodils are blooming and litter is everywhere.

We need to do something about this. In my area, my husband and I have picked up seven 30-gallon bags in the last two weeks along a five-mile area. I called around and got in contact with the Solid Waste District at 330-627-7311. They were very helpful. They have an adopt an area program and can offer safety guidelines and other items to help aid in litter collection.

I suggest anyone interested in getting groups and clubs involved get in touch with this agency. They are not affiliated with ODOT, which has the adopt-a-highway program. The district focuses on cleaning up county and township roads.
