To the Editor:
The Coley Stag Reunion Committee had a very successful 2009 reunion. According to Treasurer Denny Roudebush, this year’s profit has enabled us to again provide scholarships to seniors at Carrollton High School.
We would like to thank all of the patrons that continue to support our event every year. It brings us great pride to be able to have a reunion every year, but none of it would be possible without your attendance and the hard work of many people.
First and foremost the Stag tradition could not happen if we didn’t have the full support of the extended Cole family and for allowing us to continue on with this great reunion. The Carrollton Civic Club members and volunteers provide many hours that are required to set up, work to serve everyone and take down and put into storage all of our memorabilia and bar.
Thank you Jim Long and his family for providing a place and allowing us to disrupt his business. Also, a thank you goes out to Carrollton schools, Bruce Westfall, Carroll County Historical Society, Mesler Roll Offs, the Depot, Pepsi Cola, W. C. Bunting Company, Miller Septic, the Village of Carrollton, Thorne’s Marketplace, Carrollton Farmers Exchange, Betty Kaye Bakery, Jay Hays and Budweiser. A special thank you goes to Janna Wheeler for her artwork for the bowl and the picture of Longs.
Preparations have started for this year’s reunion, which will be Friday, Nov. 26, at Long’s and we are looking for suggestions on how to improve our operations. If you have any suggestions, please contact Bill Wohlwend. Also, in 2012 we will be remembering the 25th anniversary of the closing and we would like to do a Silver Anniversary Celebration.
