A. Clint Smith Jr.

A. Clint Smith Jr., 68, of Bear Rd. Amsterdam formerly of Warren died March 31, 2008, in Mercy Medical Center in Canton.

Born Oct. 10, 1939, in Warren, he was a son of the late Albert Clinton and Esther Davis Smith, Sr.

He was the retired owner of Albert Smith and Son Garage Door Company of Warren.  He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, a member of Nifty Fifty Antique Car Club, Snafu Coffee Club of Warren and had been a Boy Scout Troop leader for a weblo troop where he was a member of the Order of the Arrow.

He worked with youth through the National Soap Box Derby Assoc.  He played basketball at Highland High School and bowled a perfect 300 game at Garson Lanes in Amsterdam.  He assisted with the bowling program at Carroll Hills Workshop.

He is survived by his wife, the former Carol Price, whom he married Dec. 31, 1960; a son, Robin (Cindy) Smith of Indian Head, MD; two daughters, Laura (Donald) Yocum of Niles and Karen Smith of the home; four grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 3 at 1 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam.  Calling hours will be from noon until service time.
