Edith M. Jones

Edith M. Jones, 89, formerly of Uhrichsville, died March 11, 2008, in the New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover where she had been a resident for the past eight years.

Born May 8, 1918, in Tuscarawas County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maude Gray Rentsch.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church at Sherrodsville.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Bill F. (Shirley) Jones of Homassassa, FL., Denny (Carolyn) Jones of Bowerston, and Mrs. Sharyn Crawford of New Philadelphia; two sisters and a brother, Helen Garrett, Ruth Davis, and Dale Rentsch, all of Uhrichsville; daughter-in-law, Aila Jones of El Dorado, KS and 12 grandchildren; numerous great-children and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest C. Jones died Oct. 7, 1967; a son, Ronald; four brothers, Charles, Ben, Sam, and Dean Rentsch, and two sisters, Mable Kasco and Doris Jones.

Funeral services were conducted March 15 in Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Doug Mallernee officiating.  Interment followed in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens.
