S.W. "Buck" Dingle
S.W. "Buck" Dingler, 81, of Dellroy, passed away March 14, 2008 in the Carroll Healthcare Center following an extended illness.
Born May 1, 1926, in Commanche County, TX, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Ada Ward Dingler
He retired from the Pipeliners Union Local #798 where he worked for 40 years. He was particularly proud that he had served seven years working on the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline. He was a member of the Leavittsville United Methodist Church, the Dellroy American Legion Post #475, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served in World War II in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his children Rod (Mary) Dingler of Canton, Randy (Patti) Dingler of Dellroy, Dan (Elaine) Dingler of Leavittsville, Kathy (Bill) Burley of Shreve, and Todd Dingler of Dellroy; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlene DeLoach of Texas; brothers-in-law, Wayne Brock of Texas, Donnie (Idell) Anderson, Gene (Shirley) Anderson, all of Carrolllton; and sisters-in-law Grace Anderson of Carrollton and Vivian Anderson of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera L. Anderson Dingler who died July 7, 2004; his in-laws Carl and Anna Anderson; three great-grandchildren Alexis, Jack, and Justin; sisters, Grace Fuller, Lucy Greer, Inez Hurst, and Evelyn Brock; a brother, Raymond Dingler; four sisters-in-law, and eight brothers-in-law.
Funeral services were held March 19 in Leavittsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Brinsley officiating. Interment followed in Leavittsville Cemetery where the Carrollton DAV, VFW, and American Legion conducted military graveside services. Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville was in charge of arrangements.
