Edward P. "Big Ed" Sigler

Edward P. "Big Ed" SiglerEdward P. "Big Ed" Sigler, Jr., 68, of 6169 Crowder Road SW, Sherrodsville, died March 13, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover after a sudden illness.

Born June 15, 1939, in Canton, he was the son of the late Edward Phillip, Sr. and Julia Pauly Sigler.

He retired in 1995 from the former LTV Steel Co. at Canton as a first helper on electric furnaces after 38 years of service. He worked for his dad and uncles as a carpenter prior to his employment at LTV (Republic Steel).   He was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church at Canton and the Bolivar Sportsmen's Club.

He enjoyed antiquing with his wife Kay and he took pleasure in working around the home on his tractor.

He is survived by his wife Kay Jean Berger Sigler whom he married June 18, 1960.

A graveside service was held March 18 in the Calvary Cemetery Chapel at Massillon and iInterment followed.  The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handled arrangements.
