Vernon Frank Graubner
Vernon Frank Graubner, 63, of Berry Rd, Kensington, passed away April 21, 2008, upon completion of his last successful turkey hunt.
Born April 13, 1945, in Alliance, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Florence (Kriner) Graubner.
He graduated from West Branch High School, received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University and a master's degree at Westminster College. He was an educator at Southern Local Schools for 37 years and retired in 2002. He was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. He served as a part-time law enforcement officer for the Village of Hanoverton for 14 years and was a member of the Carroll County Mounted Deputies.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Smith) Graubner of the home; two daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Nelson of Columbus and Shawna (James) Anderson of Akron; and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Allmon officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Maple-Cotton Funeral Home in Kensington. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Local Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 2, Salineville, 43945.
