Edith Mae Lake
Edith Mae Lake, 82, formerly of 12th St., Carrollton passed away April 26, 2008, in Carroll Healthcare Center in Carrollton.
Born July 6, 1925, in Uhrichsville, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Flori (Baker) Thompson.
She lived in Stark County most of her life. She was retired from the nutrition department of Canton Metropolitan Senior Citizens Complex. She was a member of AARP, Carrollton Baptist Temple and Jolly 60s.
She is survived by a son, Herbert (Janet) Swogger of Carrollton; two daughters, Florence Changet of East Sparta and Emma Lattea of Guernsey; a sister, Emmajean (Carl) Miller of Canton; 11 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse H. Lake, whom she married Oct. 3, 1981, and who passed away Nov. 29, 1991; one daughter and her husband, Gloria and Robert Clark; three brothers and three sisters; two husbands, Foster Swogger and Thomas Martin and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 30 in Carrollton Baptist Temple with Pastor David L. Powell officiating. Burial followed in Canton Forrest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carrollton Baptist Temple in memory of Edith. Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home of Carrollton was in charge of arrangements
