Earl Leroy Riegle

Earl Leroy RiegleEarl Leroy Riegle, Sr., 81, of Third St., Carrollton, passed away March 15, 2008, in Aultman Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born Dec. 11, 1926, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Clayton N. and Elva M. (Guess) Riegle.

A lifelong resident of Carroll County, he was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the Philippines where he received the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Efficiency, Honor and Fidelity Medals, among many other medals. An avid car enthusiast, he owned and operated Riegle's Garage and Auto Sales for over 50 years.  He was baptized into the Church of Christ.

He is survived by is wife, Nancy J. Workman, whom he married Feb. 6, 1960; two sons, Earl (Luanne) Riegle, Jr. and Jeff (Lisa) Riegle, both of Carrollton; three daughters, Regena (Brad) Bowman of East Rochester, Julie (Joe) Connors of Greensburg, PA and Jennifer (Jason) Morris of Tipp City; a brother, Tom (Jana) Riegle of Mechanicstown; a sister, Bernice (Donald) Slates of Carrollton; 14 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and an infant brother, Edward.

At the family's request, cremation will take place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home of Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.
