Harold K. Laizure
Harold K. Laizure, Sr., 90, died April 8, 2008, in his home after a short illness.
Born March 26, 1918, in Colliers, WV, he was the son of the late William and Anna Kennedy Laizure.
He worked for Carroll Clay and Summitville Tile before retiring from the Carrollton Water, Sewer and Street Department. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in North Africa and Italy. He was a member of Carrollton Church of Christ Christian.
He is survived by a son, Harold K. (Barbara) Laizure, Jr. of Carrollton; a grandson; one step granddaughter and grandson; and two great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former, Dortha "Madge" Phillips who died in 1994 in an automobile accident; a brother, Edgar Laizure and a daughter-in-law, Karen Laizure.
Funeral services were held April 12 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Mike Doak officiating. Burial followed in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Carroll County Hospice. |
