Harry G. Elliott
Harry G. Elliott, 82, of Apollo Rd., Carrollton passed away April 15, 2008, in Aultman Hospital.
Born March 4, 1926, in Harlem Springs, he was the son of the late George W. and Bertha M. (Householder) Elliott.
He was employed at Timken Company for 22 years, retiring in 1986 and was afflilated with the family oil business for over 60 years, retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran of WWII having been a gunner in Ball Turret. He was a member of Harsh Memorial Church.
He is survived by a son, Ray (Lisa) Elliott of Magnolia; two daughters, Jean (Mike) Guess and Janet (Eric) Grunder, both of Carrollton; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary E. Noble who he married Nov. 27, 1946, and who passed away March 13, 2005; his twin sister, Mary Hilliard and a brother, William Elliott.
Funeral services were held April 19 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor James Porter of Harsh Memorial Church, Pastor Mike Doak of Carrollton Church of Christ (Christian Disciples) and Paster Janice Strawn of Church of the Open Door Chapel in Sandyvale officiating. Burial followed in Harlem Springs Cemetery with full military honors by VFW, DAV and American Legion. |
