Pauline V. Mills
Pauline V. Mills, 88, of High St., Carrollton, 88, of High St., Carrollton died April 7, 2008, in Carroll Healthcare Center following an extended illness.
Born March 5, 1920, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Kate Day Vance.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carrollton where she was a former deacon. She was an employee of Surety Rubber Co. of Carrollton and Carrollton Manufacturing Company. She retired from The Scio Pottery Company after 37 years of service. After retirement, she worked several years in home healthcare.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Shelva (Bill) Chiurco of Carrollton; four brothers, Wayne Vance of York, PA, Owen Vance of Canal Fulton, John Calvin Vance of Shreveport, LA and Allen (Sonny) Vance of Hanoverton; two sisters, Eveline Collier of Flintstone, MD. and Virginia Shotzberger of Duncannon, MD. and a step grandson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Dwight Markley on Dec. 20, 1963 and her second husband, Wayne Mills on Jan. 11, 1988; a brother, Chester Vance and a sister, Edith Johnson.
Funeral services will be held April 11 at 10 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Ryan Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. |
