Neil Kohler

Neil Kohler, 84, of Kilgore died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in his home.
Born Aug. 23, 1924, in Jewett, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Della Myers Kohler.

He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.  In August of 1986, he retired from the Carroll County Highway Department.  He was a member of Amsterdam Church of God.

He is survived by one son, Roy (Donna) Kohler of Kilgore; a daughter, Nancy Kohler of Kilgore; two brothers, Bud (Shirley) Kohler of Carrollton and Roland Kohler of Mechanicstown; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Iverna Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Webb Kohler, whom he married Feb. 7, 1945, and who passed away July 10, 1986; two brothers, Robert and Gene and two sisters, Bryle and Cornie.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with Rev. Bob Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
