John Kenneth "Pip" Fawcett

John Kenneth "Pip" Fawcett, age 89, a lifelong resident of Kilgore, passed away Dec. 6, 2010, of natural causes at his daughter's home in Milton, FL.

Born Dec. 24, 1920, in Kilgore, he was the son of the late Ralph and Minnie (Wile) Fawcett.

He was stationed in Okinawa while serving in the US Navy during WWII.  He worked the family farm all his life, as well as working at Weirton Steel until his retirement.

He is survived by his five children, Linda Antijunti of Milton, FL, John (Gay) Fawcett of Malvern, Susan Fawcett of Pensacola, FL, Michael (Barb) Fawcett of Huntsville, AL, and Jeff Fawcett of Fort Lauderdale, FL; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Mae (Shultz), whom he married Sept. 16, 1944, and who died Jan. 31, 2002; a brother, Wendall and a sister, Frances Nasuta.

The family will receive friends Dec. 18 from 12-2 p.m. at Kilgore United Methodist Church in Kilgore In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL, 32504.

Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
