Jerry Lee Nichols
Jerry Lee Nichols, 70, of Carrollton passed away Saturday Dec. 12, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
Born March 19, 1939, in Dennison, he was a son of the late Oakie A. and Ada A. (Rutledge) Nichols.
He was retired from the Carroll County Highway Department where he was a superintendent. After retirement from the highway department, he worked for Heubner Chevrolet delivering cars. He was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Carroll County Antique Tractors Collectors Club, Carrollton Masonic Lodge #124 FAM, Carrollton Ruritans, Minerva Lodge #123 RAM and Loyalty Council #146.
He is survived by his wife, the former Alberta Mae Carr who he married June 5, 1959; two sons, Scott A. (Chris) Nichols of Carrollton and Mark (Kim) Nichols of Marysville; two daughters, Jeri Nichols Riffle of Columbus and Becky (Mike) Marteney of Bellevue; a brother, Jack (Barbara) Nichols of Robertsville; a sister, Patty (Clyde) Campbell of Carrollton and seven grandchildren, Mycala, Ellie, Hannah and Brittany Nichols, Trent and Taylor Marteney and Matt Riffle.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Nichols and a sister, Jenny Lu Dye.
Funeral services were held Dec. 15 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Loomis officiating. |
