Raymond Kappenhagen
Raymond Kappenhagen, 93, of Carrollton and formerly of Cleveland, died early Friday Oct. 22, 2010, in Carroll Healthcare Center, Carrollton.
Born Aug. 23, 1917, in Cleveland, he was a son of the late John and Magdalen Zeitz Kappenhagen.
A WWII Army veteran, he served in the European Theater of operations. He was a retired employee of Pitney-Bowes Corporation.
He was the beloved father of Carol (Jim) Myers of Carrollton. He is also survived by grandson, Jason (Erin) Myers of Fairlawn; great granddaughter, Quinne Myers of Fairlawn; nephews, William (Romana) Murmann of Strongsville and Robert (Janet) Murmann of Macedonia; a niece, Marie (Beryl Prusinoski) Murmann of Avon; several great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Dolores Kenney of Wisconsin and nephew David Kenney.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kenney, whom he married in 1948, and who passed away in 2004; a sister, Coletta; a brother, Andrew and stepbrother, Sylvester Kappenhagen.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Carrollton with Fr. Joseph Zomary officiating. Interment will take place in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton.
