Elden E. "Bud" Delaney

Elden E. "Bud" Delaney, 89, of Minerva, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 2, 2011.

Born June 6, 1921, in Carrollton, he was a son of the late Cornel Ellsworth and Erma Ruby (Miller) Delaney.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Minerva, where he was an ordained elder, and held many other offices in the church.  He was a former member of Minerva Rotary Club.  He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1941, and worked as a service man at Amerigas for 37 years, retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Della Jean (Swank) Delaney; three daughters, Rebecca S. DeLane of Minerva, Barbara J. (Terry) Brooks and Pamela K. Platt, both of Carrollton; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma J.  Miller of Carrollton; and two brothers, Richard E. (Eileen) Delaney of St. Clairsville, and William R. (Hannelore) Delaney of Brea, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Delaney.

Funeral Services were held June 8 in First Christian Church of Minerva with Mr. Dale Roberts and Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Burial was in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
