Jeffrey Allen Phillips
Jeffrey Allen Phillips, 49, of Imperial Beach, CA, passed away Feb. 21, 2011, after complications from esophageal cancer surgery.
Born June 28, 1961, in Carrollton, he was the son of Dorothy (Hendrickson) Phillips of Carrollton and the late William Austin Phillips.
He graduated from Carrollton High School and served in the Navy from 1981-1994, rising to rank of First Class Petty Officer. He served on the aircraft carriers USS Ranger and USS Constellation, specializing in aviation ordinances.
Following his military services, he became an accounting tutor for Southwestern College. He worked in the accounting department for Arden Realty from 1996-2000; then joined the accounting department at The Daily Transcript in San Diego, CA, in 2000. He became The Transcript's director of operations in 2006, where he was responsible for multiple aspects of The Transcript, including capital and operational budget, circulation department, the plan room and public notices department.
He is survived by his wife, the former Connie Sanderson; two sons, Devon and Jeffrey; and several brothers and sisters and their families. |
