Arden R. Vance

Arden R. Vance, age 76, of Minerva died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in Alliance Community Hospital. Born Dec. 16, 1935, in Minerva, she was a daughter to Joseph and Rose (Reeder) Edwards. 

She retired from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where she worked for over 40 years.  She was a big part of the Normandy Inn for many years and was a member of the Minerva First Christian Church. 

She is survived by two grandchildren, Tania Vance (Franklin Monk) of Minerva and Dylan Vance of East Rochester; four great grandchildren, Kyla, Hunter, Brandon Vance and Sebastian Monk; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Barb Mills; several nieces and nephews, and many special loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Vance, who died in 1975; longtime companion, Jerry Mills who died in 2010; son, Chester A. Vance; three sisters, Patricia Edwards, JoAnne Zwahlen and Judy Bagueros, and three brothers, Alfred, Gordon and Joseph Edwards.  Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerry Mills Normandy Inn Thanksgiving meal fund.  Those wishing to share condolences may sign the register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
