Leasure Deford Fox
Leasure Deford Fox, age 88, of Navarre, passed away at Altercare of Navarre, Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 5, 1925, in Morgantown, WV, he was a son to the late Leasure C. & Margaret Fox. Hank attended Carrollton High School and served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, 1943 to 1946. He married Ida Jane Nov. 23, 1946, who passed away Dec. 25, 2008, after 62 years of marriage.
Hank worked at Timken Roller Bearing, National Fireproofing Corp., 19 years at Carroll Mfg. Co., and retired in 1988 from Ray Molder Carrier Corp. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon, WWII Memorial Society, Teamsters Retiree Club, as well as a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV.
He is survived by three daughters, Judith A. Swiger, Diana L. (Bryan) Slider and Susan A. (Lynn) Clark; three sons, Steven D. Fox, Ronald A. (Debra) Fox and Jeffrey C. (Becky) Fox; a sister, Sarah A. Hagey; a brother, Jack E. (Peg) Fox; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members
In addition to his parents and wife, Leasure was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Ruth McCray and Edna Elizabeth Higgins.; brother Edward L. Fox; son-in-law Jerry R. Swiger; and two granddaughters Tiffany L. Ayers and Brandi L. Fox.
Family and friends may call at the Reed Funeral Home (Canton Chapel) Tues Sept. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at East Union Lawn Cemetery.
