Herman A. Favri
Herman A. Favri, age 105, of Carrollton passed away May 11, 2010, at Carroll Golden Age Retreat where he resided for several years.
Born Feb. 1, 1905, in Scroggsfield, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lela (McLaughlin) Favri.
He was employed by the former Bergholz Telephone Company from 1922-1935, Minerva Municipal Light Plant from 1935-1945 and the Ohio Power Company from 1945 until his retirement Jan. 30, 1970, after 25 years of service.
He was a life resident of Carroll County and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carrollton. He was a member of Carroll Lodge F & AM #124 where he was a 60-year member, life member of Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Minerva Chapter of Lodge F & AM #123 for 15 years, Royal Arch and Select Masons of Ohio, Carrollton Lions Club, Carrollton Ruritan Club and a life member of the Carroll County Historical Society.
He is survived by a daughter, Inez Mae (Allen) Bryan of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary R. McConnell, whom he married June 6, 1931, and who passed away Oct. 7, 1997; a son, Bert Favri; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held May 13 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Hale officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
