Sylvia Mae Wohlwend

Sylvia Mae Wohlwend, age 91, of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in Carroll Healthcare Center.

Born Feb. 16, 1918, in Newcomerstown, she was a daughter of the late Burton W. and Mary Catherine (Bradshaw) Reichman.

She graduated in 1936 from Gnadenhutten High School.  She was a member of Carrollton First Presbyterian Church and retired from First National Bank in 1979.

She is survived by two sons, John Frederick "Fred" (Betsy) Wohlwend of Dothan, AL, and William R. (Valerie) Wohlwend of Carrollton; two daughters, Carole (Larry) McCully of Minerva and Susan (Dallas) Logan of Perrysville; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Wohlwend whom she married Nov. 22, 1940, and who passed away Jan. 16, 1995; a brother, Walter Reichman and one sister, Catherine I. Hamaker.

At the family's request, Sylvia's remains have been cremated.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Carrollton.  Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
