Harriet E. Mitchell

Harriet E. Mitchell, 101, of Canton Rd, Carrollton died Sunday morning Dec. 6, 2009, in Carroll Healthcare Center in Carrollton following an extended illness.

Born May 22, 1908, in Alliance, she was a daughter of the late Lincoln A. and Anna Muermann Leonard.

She worked along side her husband in his veterinary practice until his death when she became employed by and retired from the Carroll County Title Department.  She was a member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Carrollton Eastern Star and the Veterinary Medical Society Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Mitchell of Carrollton; a daughter, Katherine Guzay of Johnstown; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, F.S. Mitchell in 1964; on grandson, Stephen Guzay; a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Dan Loomis officiating.  Burial was in Alliance Cemetery.
