Helen E. Stewart
Helen E. Stewart, 89, of Carrollton passed away peacefully in her sleep Nov. 26, 2010, at Carroll Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 24, 1921, in Belmont County, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Lucy (Bumgardner) Lendon.
She spent most of her life in Carroll County. She worked 42 years at the former Scio Pottery and then five years as a foster grandparent at St. John's Villa in Carrollton. She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Temple and Carrollton Eagles.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shelia (Jerry) Crum of Carrollton; a granddaughter, Ashley Crum; a grandson, Jason Crum; a great granddaughter, Haley Crum; three brothers, James (Barb) Lendon of Canfield, Wilbur Lendon of Dresden and George (Candy) Lendon of Bethesda; three sisters, Martha Lendon of Bethesda, Jessie Smyth of Corpus Christie, TX, and Dorothy (Stanley) Zupan of Middleburg Heights; three sisters-in-law, Jennie (Stewart) Knight, Eva Lendon and Barb (Stevens) Stewart; and two brothers-in-law, Otho (Phyllis) Miller and Jesse Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Stewart, whom she married Jan. 29, 1942, and who passed away Dec. 10, 1994; four sisters, Marie and Gertrude Lendon, Lela Rossie and Della (Otha) Miller; two brothers, Earl and Leslie Lendon and her stepmother, Elizabeth Lendon.
At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be made in care of Sheia Crum, 1097 Bacon Rd., Carrollton, 44615. |
