Charles "Chic" Lohman
Charles "Chic" Lohman age 89, died early Monday morning, Oct. 17, 2011, at Carroll Health Care Center in Carrollton.
Born April 13, 1922, in Salineville, he was a son of the late Fred and Clara Lafferty Lohman.
Chic lived all his life in the Salineville area. He was a veteran of the United States Army. His occupation was a coal miner, but many will remember him as the owner and operator of Chic's Lake and for his Christmas tree farm. He loved hunting and fishing and told many fish stories at the Trapper Shack in Salineville.
Chic will be sadly missed by his son, Fred (Rita) Lohman of Canfield; a granddaughter, Miranda Lohman of Carrollton; a grandson, Hunter "Peep" Lohman of Canfield; and two step grandchildren, Josh and Chad Lewis both of Wellsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Starkey Lohman; a brother, Elmer Lohman; a sister, Cletis Grant, and a stepson, Tom Lewis.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, with Reverend Tim Cashen of the Monroeville Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the American Legion John Adams Post 442. Family and friends may call at Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
