Freeda S. Yoder

Freeda S. Yoder, age 73, of 7023 Andora Road N.E., Mechanicstown, formerly of 615 Milledgeville Road, Hadley (Deer Creek Twp.) passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 4:30 a.m. in her residence.

Born June 13, 1938, in Hartville, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Fannie (Helmuth) Schlabach. 

She was a homemaker and had previously been a member of Pleasantview Conservative Mennonite Church Cochranton and most recently had been attending Berea Christian Fellowship.

She is survived by six sons, Oscar Yoder and his wife Mary of Rutherfordton, TN, Myron Yoder and his wife Cornelia, Kenneth Yoder and his wife Jennifer, and Brian Yoder and his wife Rosetta, all of Tryon, NC, Larry Yoder and his wife Sheila of Henrietta, TX, and Titus Yoder and his wife Joanna of Hadley; five daughters, Louise Dowell and her husband Larry of Shelby, NC, Viola Yoder, Cynthia Yoder, and Waneda Shankel and her husband Byron, all of Mechanicstown, and Rhonda Ryder and her husband Benny of Elliston, VA; two sisters, Catherine Miller of Cochranton and Mary Sopher of Meadville; six brothers, Victor Schlabach and his wife Ada of Fairview, MO, Oscar Schlabach and his wife Mary Sue of Hadley, Robert Schlabach and his wife Margaret of Matthews, NC, Wyman Schlabach and his wife Ruth, Henry (Cap) Schlabach, Jr. and his wife Norma, and Roy Schlabach and his wife Karen, all of Hartville; and 33 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy W. Yoder, whom she married Oct. 1, 1959, and who passed away Aug. 23, 2000; her parents; one brother, Eli Schlabach; two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Schlabach and Viola Jones and a grandson, Payton Yoder.

Funeral Service will be held at Pleasantview Fellowship Hall, County Line Road, Cochranton at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, with Ministers Junior Stoltzfus, John Wengerd, Elden Falb and Paul Kurtz officiating.  The committal service and interment will follow at the Pleasantview Mennonite Cemetery.  Friends may call Saturday from 3 -5 and 7-9 p.m. at Pleasantview Conservative Mennonite Church, County Line Road, Cochranton and are invited to share condolences and memories online with the family at www.robertsnyderfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are with Robert L.
