Evelyn B. Shorb

Evelyn B. Shorb, age 101, of Dellroy, passed away Tuesday evening June 16, 2009, in Carroll Healthcare Center. 

She was born in Arkansas, a daughter of the late Curtis and Gladys Brothers, and had been a resident of the Magnolia area most of her life. 

She was a graduated of the Aultman School of Nursing Dec. 6, 1968 at the age of 60, and had worked several years as a Registered Nurse at nursing homes.  She was a bird watcher and loved her cats.  She also was an avid canasta player and reader. 

She raised several foster children over the years, including three whom she adopted and survive her, Terry, Phillip, and Pamela.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shorb.

There will be no calling hours or services.  According to her wishes, she has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered on her beloved farm.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia was in charge of arrangements.
