Together again: Frank and Opal Moyer

Opal R. "Bennett" Moyer, 88, of Salineville Rd., NE, Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Carroll Healthcare Center.

Born Nov. 30, 1923, in Cherry Grove, WV, she was a daughter of Martin Bennett and Mamie (Arbogast) Bennett.

She belonged to Carrollton Baptist Temple and enjoyed quilting, playing cards and working puzzles.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by five daughters, Joyce Moyer of Carrollton, Susie (Daniel) Peters of Hubbard, Wilma (Joe) Krych of Ravenna, Annie (Ray) Arkenburgh of Carrollton, and Eunice Huffman of Aurora; 16 grandchildren, Holly Miller, Galen Schrecengost, Avery Krych, Joe Krych, Jr., Duane Huffman, Linda Withers, Wayne Huffman, Roger Huffman, Blaine Huffman, Leslie Jenkins, Jenny Love, Angela Arkenburgh, Crystal Arkenburgh, Tanya Lee, Gwenn Leishman and Adrian Arkenburgh; 47 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Strawder and Annie Kisamore; and a brother-in-law, Olie Moyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Arlie Moyer, whom she married May 25, 1946, and who died April 12, 1999; her parents; two brothers, Cletus and Guy Bennett; two grandchildren, Raymond Arkenburgh and Eunice "Sissy" Nichols; and a son-in-law, Calvin Huffman.

Funeral services will be June 23 at noon at Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home.  Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 p.m and Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Scroggsfield Cemetery.  A special thank you goes to all caregivers at Carroll Healthcare Center.
