Y. Nancy McCullough

Y. Nancy McCullough, age 70, of Carrollton had her coronation day on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in her residence surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness of brain cancer. 

Born on Sept. 7, 1941, in Canton, OH, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Valetich. 

Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. She worked as a secretary of Stark County Dairy Council from 1959-1962.  While living in Carrollton, she worked five years at Ames Department Store.  She was known for her sewing, quilting and provided alterations for many people in the community.  She loved vacationing at the beach at Isle of Palms, SC, and visiting her two granddaughters in Keller, TX.  Nancy was also a very avid reader.

She was very active at Trinity Gospel Temple of Canton.  She was passionate about the children's programs for the yearly camp as well as the Bundles of Joy program for unwed mothers. 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Terry; mother-in-law, Juanita O. McCullough; sons, Mark (Elaine) McCullough of Carrollton and Steven (Holly) McCullough of Keller, TX; daughter, Kris (John) Whitmer of Canton; four grandchildren, Nathan McCullough of Florida, Isaac McCullough of Seymour Johnson, NC, USAF; and Adrianna and Kendall McCullough of Keller, TX;  sisters, Annie (Perry) Tolios of Boulder City,  NV, and Virginia (Ray) Barnes of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie (Dan) Grimsley.

Respecting Nancy's wishes, she was cremated.  Calling hours will be at 11 a.m. with a memorial service following Thursday, June 7 at Trinity Gospel Temple, W. Tuscarawas St., Canton.  Services to be officiated by her husband, Pastor Terry McCullough.  A meal following the service will be held in the church buffet room.
