Lillian Marie Hampton

Lillian Marie Hampton, age 85, of Carrollton passed away Tuesday morning, April 28, 2009, at Great Trail Nursing Home.

Born March 2, 1924, in Filmore, KY, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Lila (Combs) King.

She was a member of the New Harrisburg United Presbyterian Church, Carrollton Garden Club, Carroll County Historical Society and the Order of the Eastern Star #315.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Hampton whom she married Sept. 20, 1947, two sons, Johnny Ray (Ruth) Hampton of Carrollton and James L. (Theresa L.) Hampton of Eden, NY.; two grandchildren, James L. Hampton and Lacy Marie (Joshua) Bray.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services will be held May 1 at 1 p.m. at Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in New Harrisburg Cemetery.  Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the New Harrisburg U.P. Church or the Golden Age Retreat.
