Paul Plott, age 89, of Minerva, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Minerva Eldercare.
Born Oct. 20, 1923, in New Market, MD, he was a son to Monroe and Bessie (Droneburg) Plott.
He was a beef farmer and retired from the James River Corp. in Minerva where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of Christian Life Center in Minerva.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Ebling) Plott whom he married Dec. 8, 1979; two daughters, Nerissa (Rich) Marino of Navarre and Kaye Plott of the home; four sons, David (Camella) Plott and Samuel (Chris) Plott, both of Minerva, Joseph (Mel) Plott of Okinawa, Japan and John Plott of Alexandria, VA; two sisters, June (Marc) Tilmant of Kensington and Marlene (Ben) Abrams of Canton; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and his five favorite dogs.
He is preceded in death by a stepson, Stanley Warne; sister, Priscilla Crawford; and three brothers, John "E.J." Plott, Monroe Plott, Jr. and Clyde Plott.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. in the Christian Life Center in Minerva with Rev. Tim Gropp officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
