Pamela S. Dessecker

Pamela S. DesseckerPamela S. Dessecker, age 49, of 1819 Henderson School Rd., New Philadelphia, died late Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2014, in the Mercy Medical Center in Canton following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born Dec. 26, 1964, in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Lanny Wayne and Frances Arlene Harvey Rothacher.

She had been employed as a private home-health care aide. Pam's life almost fully revolved around her husband Thad and her two children.  She possessed an adventurous side, indicated by the fact she enjoyed riding her Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. Pam was happy and proud that she was expecting her first grandchild later this year.

She is survived by her husband, Thad A. Dessecker, whom she married Sept. 9, 1989; a son, Brody D.  Dessecker of the home; a daughter, Cheyenne R. Dessecker of Midvale; her brother, Michael W. Rothacher of Dellroy; and two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Verna) Burnsworth of Troy, MT, and her twin sister, Mrs. Michael (Patricia A.) Burkhart of Leesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Rothacher.

Funeral services will be conducted. Saturday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. in the Holmes United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating.  Interment will follow in Holmes Church Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held Friday from 3-7 p.m. in Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville.
