Stephen J. Kinney Sr.
Stephen J. Kinney Sr., 75, of Harlem Springs died early Tuesday morning Oct. 6, 2009, in his home following a brief illness.
A son of the late William and Helen Conley Kinney, he was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Amsterdam.
He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, and most importantly spending time with his grandkids.
Along with his wife, the former Neva J. Brown, he is survived by one son, Stephen Jr. (Cathy) Kinney; one daughter, Janet (Dick) Ricer; six grandchildren, David "Beany" (Amy) McKibben, Lynde (Warren) Cameron, Jessica (Edward) Hale, Jenilee (Lance) Bransteter, Haley Kinney, Alivia Kinney; two step grandchildren, Rick (Andi) Ricer, Julie (Shane) Deitz; five great grandchildren, Maddie, Dylan, Trinity, Desa, Emmaleigha; five step great grandchildren, Brittany, Chevelle, Dana, Hayley, Whitney; two brothers, Thomas J. Kinney, Larry Kinney; and one sister, Irma Dubetz.
He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Jan and Jill; one brother, William and one sister, Bertha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Jack McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Harlem Springs Cemetery . Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8:00 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam.
