John G. Mullet

John G. Mullet, 92, of Kensington passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at his home following a lingering illness surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 17, 1917, he was a son of the late Gideon and Anna (Hochstetler) Mullet.

He was a faithful member of Glade Run Mennonite Church, and has left a Godly example for his family to follow.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Zook) who he married Jan. 2, 1941; two sons, Mervin (Magdalena) Mullet of Aberdeen, NC, and Phillip (Sarah) Mullet of New Bethlehem, PA; four daughters, Esther (Franklin) Hunsberger of Salineville, Viola (Elton) Miller of Estacada, OR; Katherine (William) Sommers of Rutherfordton, NC, Luella (Kenneth) Yoder of Kensington; 42 grandchildren; 97 great grandchildren and five half-sisters, Fannie (Fred) Hostetler of Millersburg, Katie (John) Sommers of Minerva, Mary and Edith (Floyd) Miller, all of Colorado Springs, CO, and Martha (William) Gingerich of Hartville.

He is preceded in death by two stepfathers, Benedict Beachy and Daniel Hostetler; two brothers, Enos and Noah; two sisters, Barbara and Lucy; one half-brother, Jake Beachy; two step brothers, Dan Beachy and Mose Hochstetler; one step-sister, Ella Weaver and numerous other step brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Sept. 4 at Glade Run Mennonite Church on Bane Rd., Kensington.  Final resting place was in the church cemetery.  Maple Cotton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family wishes to express appreciation for the many words and deeds of kindness and encouragement during John's illness and death.  May God bless you all as you have blessed us.
